THEATRE| Spirits (from age 13)
About
To be consumed without moderation, Spiritueux is an alcohol distilled as close as possible to its essence... For better or for worse. A tasting halfway between societal farce and intimate tragedy, a dazed 35-year-old man tries to piece together his memories of an evening he has almost forgotten. Alone on stage, Laurent Cazanave delivers a highly personal performance about his ambiguous relationship with alcohol. Staggering along on shaky ground, constantly on edge, he lets out a veritable flood of words. A tidal wave that reveals his innermost thoughts while drawing the audience into the heart of a strange intoxication. The omnipresent soundtrack is a perfect reflection of the floating feeling that grips us. Drinking to forget, to celebrate, to discuss... The play questions our relationship with alcohol and its social implications with great finesse. Plunged into a second state, the audience can't escape the dizzying question posed to them: how far are we capable of getting drunk, and above all, why?
