The Chapelle Sainte-Thérèse d'Audenfort, in the hamlet of Clerques, is one of the most striking chapels in the region. It was built in 1930 in the Art Deco style by the Audenfort architect Gustave Vandenbergue. Built on the banks of the River Hem, it is made of bricks and flint picked up by children in the surrounding fields.

Description

Parmi les chapelles du pays, la Chapelle Sainte-Thérèse d'Audenfort, hameau de Clerques, se distingue par son architecture étonnante. Elle est bâtie en 1930, dans un style Art déco que l'on doit à l'architecte audomarois, Gustave Vandenbergue. Implantée en en bordure de la Hem, elle est faite de briques et de silex ramassés par les enfants dans les champs alentour.
