Le Clître
The route begins in the centre of the village, which became a commune at the time of the French Revolution. The church at the crossroads was built in the 19th century and has recently been restored. On the other side of the road is the site of the former Cistercian abbey of Clairmarais, built at the foot of the marsh in the 12th century and destroyed during the Revolution. Only the gatehouse and the remarkable farmhouse with dovecote have been preserved.
