Le Héricat
The Tournehem state forest covers 958 hectares. Le Héricat was a seigneurial estate before becoming a lumbering hamlet. Beyond Le Héricat, the route offers magnificent views over the Hem valley and Bonningues-les-Ardres. The return journey to Quercamps takes you through La Wattine, a hamlet a long way from the market town of Acquin. In 1934, its inhabitants were allowed to build their school here. The curious architecture of the building, with its tiled upper storey, is influenced by the Bal style.
