Les Hamoises

The route takes mountain bikers through the hills and valleys of the Aa. The river has powered numerous mills at Remilly-Wirquin, Ouve-Wirquin and Wavrans-sur-l'Aa. The flour mills of the early 19th century took advantage of the industrial revolution and made the transition to paper mills. No fewer than 6 paper mills were in operation in these three villages. At the beginning of the 20th century, a mill in Ouve was transformed into a hydraulic sawmill.
